Taking Shape Appeal

Local parishioner Tracey Wozny has recently launched a non-profit organization Taking Shape. The mission of this organization is to grow young leaders of this generation to impact others. She has written a youth leadership program that is serving children on three different platforms, here in our local communities, near in the Greater Kansas City area and far globally in Port au Prince, Haiti.

Currently the organization is incorporating their leadership program with the children in Port au Prince, Haiti as they are expanding an orphanage and building a school that will raise young leaders in this area, offering them education and future job opportunities. In addition, they have launched youth leadership mission camps that will travel to Haiti starting this summer in 2018.

The Taking Shape organization is a recognized 501 C 3 by the federal government. Taking Shape operates on individual and corporate donation. 100% of the proceeds go to the continued development of a global movement of youth leadership Here, Near and Far.

If you would like information on how you could give to this program or how to be involved in a mission camp opportunity, please see the bulletin boards in the back.

Jigsaw Lessons

Here are some life lessons I've learned from jigsaw puzzles:

Don't force a fit. If something is meant to be, it will come together naturally.

When things aren't going so well, take a break. Everything will look different when you return.

Be sure to look at the big picture. Getting hung up on the little pieces only leads to frustration.

Perseverance pays off. Every important puzzle went together bit by bit, piece by piece.

When one spot stops working, move to another. But be sure to come back later (see above).

The creator of the puzzle gave you the picture as a guidebook.

Variety is the spice of life. It's the different colors and patterns that make the puzzle interesting.

Establish the border first. Boundaries give a sense of security and order.

Don't be afraid to try different combinations. Some matches are surprising.

Take time to celebrate your successes (even little ones).

Anything worth doing takes time and effort. A great puzzle can't be rushed.
